St. John’s has been a light in Kenton for over 175 years now. It is humbling to think of the generations that have gone before us, the things they had seen, the adversity that confronted them, and the great faith that help them to overcome obstacles to achieve what God called them to accomplish. Like everything else, churches rise and fall. By God’s providential hand, St. John’s has endured and thrived while doing so. Being called to be the light means providing a way for others. For those who are here, it means growing in faith to keep the fire lit and glowing brightly. The Holy Spirit has given us a vision:
Making and Maturing Disciples of Jesus Christ.
That vision continues to drive us. It drives us upward to God in worship and upward to achieve the fullness of our faith in love in service. Simultaneously, that vision drives us outward to support one another in the church as we live and grow together in the light of Christ so we all may grow in maturity. Ultimately, it drives us outward to seek and save the lost and to make disciples who join with us on the journey of faith
What a joy and privilege it is to be beacons where the love of Christ flows through us to this world called to be members of St. John’s.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Randall
